Hyaluronic acid injections should be repeated every five to six months.
Botulinum toxin injections (botox©)
Botulinum toxin injection has a dual action: preventive and corrective on expression lines, crow's feet (outer corner of the eye) and lion's wrinkles (vertical forehead wrinkles related to frowning). It can be performed as soon as the first signs of aging appear. It is also indicated to slow down the ptosis of the upper eyelid (drooping eyelid) and to keep an eyebrow high. Indeed, the skin around the eye area is very thin. Repeated movements (10,000 eyelashes per day) and frowning cause the skin to wrinkle. The injection of botulinum toxin will temporarily "weaken" the muscles around the eye area and have an effect on the wrinkles that appear.
The injection of botulinum toxin can also have a preventive effect, they also delay the ptosis of the upper eyelid. Your gaze will open, enlarge, it will look rested. It is, like the injection of hyaluronic acid, without any special preparation or precaution on your part, it generally lasts about 30 minutes and can also be practiced during your lunch break. It must be renewed every four to five months, because the effect is temporary but nevertheless spectacular.
Blepharoplasty: cosmetic eyelid surgery
When the signs of aging are too marked to obtain a satisfactory result with other less invasive techniques (very drooping upper eyelid, very large pocket under the eyes, excess skin, wrinkles and fine lines or very pronounced dark circles), it is necessary to resort to a surgical procedure: Blepharoplasty. This procedure makes it possible to permanently erase a wrinkled and tired look from the eyes, without any risk to your visual acuity.
Blepharoplasty can be performed on the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. When blepharoplasty of the upper eyelids is performed, the skin and muscle are excised very discreetly in the fold of the upper eyelid in order to "tighten" it, thus allowing the tired appearance to be "erased". If there are internal fat pockets, they will be reduced during this procedure for an impeccable result. Blepharoplasty can also be performed on the lower eyelids to fill the hollow just below the eyelid. The skin is delicately excised flush with the eyelashes, excess fat is removed and the skin is "redraped" to erase bags and reduce hollows.
These two procedures can be performed alone or during the same operation. This rejuvenation surgery is simple and quick. The duration of each intervention is approximately 45 minutes, i.e. a total of one and a half hours if both are performed. Blepharoplasty can be performed under local or general anesthesia. The duration of hospitalization is only one day. During the following week, a small swelling and bruising may appear. At the end of this period, your plastic surgeon will remove the stitches and you can then return to a normal social life. The final results appear about one month after the operation.
The advantage of this operation is that it is definitive. This technique can be used alone or, more often, in addition to other medical techniques, such as botulinum toxin injection (described below).
