Microneedling is a treatment using a device with small needles to perforate the skin. This device can be manual (Dermaroller®) or electric (Dermapen®).
The aim of the treatment is to provoke a regeneration of collagen and of the whole skin tissue for a smoother, firmer and more toned skin.
Microneedling is mainly used on the face but can also be offered on the décolletage or on certain stretch marks and scars elsewhere on the body. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires little downtime. Generally, slight redness and irritation may be present for a few days after the session.
The treatment is considered safe for most people who are in good health. However, it may not be suitable for people taking certain acne medications or for pregnant women.
This treatment is considered effective in treating minor scars related to acne, injury and aging. You will probably also notice brighter and firmer skin. Ideal results are achieved after several sessions.
Microneedling can also be used to penetrate your usual serums or those suggested by your doctor. It can of course be combined with PRP.
Although this treatment can be performed at home, microneedling in the medical office is much more effective.
